Bundle focus- Jar of Flowers- Masking
Welcome back! I am having so much fun creating with this stamp set. I have had it out on my desk for most of the week. Kids are back in school, which means I have a bit more time to play.
For this week's feature, I decided to touch on masking. It's a fairly simple technique that lets you layer stamps, but it looks as though it's one solid image.
Materials needed are listed at the bottom of this post.
Stamp a second impression of the floral stamp on a sticky note, and cut out around the bottom to create a mask. Place the mask over the top of your previously stamped image. This will be where the jar stamp hits when you ink it and stamp it. Once you have stamped the jar, leave the mask in place and stamp the floral stems.
Scribble colour on the flowers, stems and jar with the watercolour pencils. I used Daffodil Delight, Pumpkin Pie, Rich Razzleberry, Old Olive, Cherry Cobbler, Early Espresso, and Granny Apple Green. Blend the colours with a blender pen, making sure to scribble the pen clean between colours to avoid transfers. I didn't do that with the sunflower colours, as I wanted them to blend.
Once your image is coloured, cut to the desired dimensions, and layer onto your card as desired.
For the final product, I used Misty Moonlight embossed with the Tasteful Textile embossing folder, with Cinnamon Cider layered between the base and the stamped image.
