Bundle feature- Jar of Flowers scarecrow

So- a little out of the box project for today. I've been seeing Mason jars online, painted to look like scarecrows, and I think they are pretty darned cute! So, today's card draws from that inspirations.

The weather has been decidedly fall-like here the past couple of weeks, and it has clearly put me in the mood for all things autumn. The pressure cooker is out, and cooler weather meals are being made, sweaters are out of hibernation, and produce is coming in from the garden. Well, with a couple of frosts under out belts already, most of the garden goodies are already in.

I'd say Mr. Scarecrow looks a little frazzled that summer has come to an end!

For this project, you will need:
Jar punch, So Saffron cardstock, Crumb Cake card stock, a small piece of Pumpkin Pie cardstock, Cinnamon Cider cardstock, glue dots, Stampin' Seal, Soft Suede Stampin' Write marker, linen thread, Heartwarming Hugs patterned paper, In Good Taste patterned paper, a hole punch and Whisper White watercolour pencil (or chalk marker).

First, punch a jar from the Crumb Cake cardstock. Next, punch two small circles from black cardstock, and add a white dot with the watercolour pencil or chalk marker. You can add a little blush to the cheeks by using Calypso Coral watercolour pencil, and blending with a blender pen. Attach the eyes with glue dots.
Next, cut a small triangle out of your orange cardstock, and attach it with the glue dots. Wrap the linen thread around a couple of fingers to make 8-10 loops, then cut in half. Divide as shown, and press onto a line of Stampin' Seal. Don't worry if you don't love it- you can always give a haircut later. Finish the scarecrow's head by adding the mouth with the marker.

Punch another jar from the Heartwarming Hugs paper, and trim as shown. This will be his hat. Cut a small piece of Cinnamon Cider cardstock for the brim of his hat, and layer onto the Heartwarming Hugs piece. Attach the completed hat to the scarecrow.

Add dimensionals to the hat- for the top of the hat, I layered two together to provide extra height and dimension to help pop it off the card layer more. Now, onto the card base.

I love Versamark. I simply took the sunflower image from this set, and stamped it twice on each side of the card. Versamark is perfect for watermarked, or tone-on-tone stamping.

To complete the card, stamp the sentiment from the Banner Year set. Layer the finished scarecrow onto a 3x4 piece of woodgrain paper from the In Good Taste patterned paper pack. Finish it with a small strip of Pumpkin Pie at the top and bottom of the strip.

I hope you enjoyed this card! Thanks for stopping by, and be sure to check out my Facebook page, too.

Happy crafting!
